Saver doesn’t become a wifeuu(?) in this one fortunatly.
And this is the prequel to stay night.
And there is alot of gens “bad stuff”, however one of the best characters has a happy ending, character development, and hardly any bad stuff.

anime is a media you have to find a GENRE that works for them so they have something
    familiar to jump into.

The concept behind a gateway anime is a show that’ll get someone comfortable with the idea of anime. Especially if their view of it is tentacles and schoolgirls, or obtuse shonen series with their own dictionary of ridiculous terminology. That’s what makes shows like Bebop and Beck perfect for being a gateway show; they show more tentative viewers that, hey, anime can be this good, easy to understand stuff that you can relax and enjoy!

I’m surprised no one brought up BABYMETAL.

God, that Toonami debate was stupid.

Fun Fact: Rurouni Kenshin aired around here uncensored at 10 AM.

“There are several hurdles when you want to introduce the average
American viewer, be they a family member or friend, to the world of
anime. Like jumping into any foreign art medium, there’s a learning
curve. Assuming your cousin Ted has had zero exposure to Japanese
culture or animated films outside of dubbed Ghibli films, where do you
start when you want to show him why anime is so cool? Consider these
seven works when you want to bridge the gap between American
entertainment and anime for someone new.”

Oh, ANN… Never change, you colossal idiots. Not only would the top 3 actually scare most people out of anime, but where’s Ghost in the Shell, Trigun, Akira(stfu! it got ppl into anime), Death Note, Monster(this didn’t get too many people into anime, but that’s not its fault), Samurai Champloo, Cobra(what I said about Monster), Baccano(how can this not be on that list?), Spice&Wolf, every big shounen show ever, etc. I’d even argue that something like Sailor Moon got more girls into anime than anything else on that list.

Sean I can’t wait to see the pictures and selfies with you and your roommates and of the hotel. Also, if you’re going all 4 days it would be cool, at least I think, if the fans of A3K could meet its’ mastermind, so will you be somewhere specific at the con or just generally walking around taking care of business?

Since this was a music focused podcast, I would like to know which song/album that Helloween has made is Cody’s favorite?

    • http://www.cloudscratcher.com Cody Baier

Album? I can’t really decide… Anything since Andi Deris became their lead vocalist, really. Kai Hansen was a terrible vocalist, and Michael Kiske was hit or miss (he kicked ass on Dr. Stein, but makes me cringe in Future World). Deris just kicks all sorts of ass and is the voice of Helloween in my opinion.

Favorite song? Much easier to decide; Midnight Sun, off their Better Than Raw album. That song is not a rock song. It is the aural incarnation of what it is to rock. It’s not even an example OF rock. It IS rock. It is all that is rocking undistilled, in its purest essence. It does not compel you to raise the horns, it forces you to, out of some greater cosmic force. Just like gravity pulls you down, Midnight Sun pulls your hands up, forcing your hands to make the horns as it does.

Second Place is a tie between the titular song from The Dark Ride, and Who Is Mr. Madman off the album 7 Sinners.
