[NEWS] Siege Zeon: New Gundam Manga

Since the fateful day of April 7, 1979, the Gundam phenomenon has taken to world by storm. From models to the life-sized RX-78-2 (R.I.P.), Universal Century Gundam, the first and best timeline ever, has never died. In fact, its fame has only continued to grow, so it comes as no surprise that another U.C. Gundam manga has been announced. 

Set in the ever-popular One Year War of U.C. 0079, a brand-spanking-new manga titled Kido Senshi Gundam Zeon Kokoku Yonen Gakko, or Zeon’s Children’s Academy was announced last Saturday in Monthly Gundam Ace to start its run in January 2010. The story will center around 5 bishonen boys and their typical Zeon attitudes of supreme justice and fighting a war on the side of righteousness.

Mayu Shijo already has some experience with the franchise. Having worked with both Monthly Gundam Ace and Gundam Seed’s mobile phone site, Seed Club Mobile, it is reasonable to believe that the manga has a chance of being something other than a cheap tie-in. At least it looks better than the new Code Geass manga.
