SYNOPSIS
LOL Heroes was excellent. Character depth, amazing story, good pacing, and bone crunching action are the highlights of this series. And in a world where most of the anime that comes out is meant to give fans a quick action or fanservice fix, it was nice to watch something that held up to the ambitions it set in the early goings and actually made you think for a change.
Although the series promotes Ryner as the main character, the crew felt that Sion was more fitting because of his inner struggle within his mind and the descisions and compromises he had to make with himself in order to be the King he felt the people needed him to be. There are also the problems that Ryner has to go through as he tries to live peacefully in a world that hates what he is, and the constant internal strife he suffers as a result of being an alpha stigma bearer. Along with the other characters, their backstories, and an engaging story, LOL Heroes proves that anime can still and will surprise us in ways we didn’t know possible. Our only gripe was the length, seriously Japan, please stop trolling….
