Comparisons are drawn to the late great Stanley Kubrick. They later discuss the pros and cons of watching Ghost in the Shell in Japanese and in English. 14:00 Minutes into the podcast the audio quality improves. Brian brings up a good point that it’s hard to stay on topic when you discuss his work. So he begins discussing some of his other works.

Other than talking about the movie, they panel talks about Oshii’s relationship with Miyazaki and Studio Ghibili. They talk about Oshii possibly working on a Lupin movie. Andre Tarchovski is a huge influence on Oshii’s work.
