On this week’s episode of the Anime 3000 Panel, we discuss the ins and outs of the social networking site, Twitter. How has this Internet SMS changed the panel in terms of networking and broadcasting information. We talk about the many pitfalls of having a company that doesn’t put an emphasis on advertising. Is it here for the long haul and is there an opportunity for Twitter to be bought by a larger corporation? Also, we look at different practices among bloggers when it relates to following and being followed by fans. Finally, we break down some of the different applications and websites that make Twitter one hell of a product.
For starters, if you notice a cricket noise in the background, you’re hearing is very good. It in deed is a cricket, Extrange’s pet cricket to be precise. After awhile, you barely notice it. It’s also epic when there are dead silences; I put one or two in there. See if you can find it.
Question for listeners, if you are on Twitter, how did you become a Twitter follower and what are your impressions of the website?
We talk about the financial aspects of Twitter and how they can sustain themselves as a company. It’s sort of a technology/economic discussion. I’m sure you have your own ideas when it comes to this.
Song during the break: E.C.D.T. by Beat Crusaders
Twitter has the ability to use it as a news source.
http://twitscoop.com allows you to see popular tag clouds in real time.
VAMPS is comprised of popular singers K.A.Z. and Hyde.
If you hear some laughter during the show that’s out of place, it has to do with what was edited from the feed.
What sort of Twitter user are you?
The line, “It’s like someone that sends out a Twitter when they fart.” The delivery from Extrange was priceless.
Anime 3000 Panel: New promo, I know you love it. I sound so corny, but you have to sound like you like to talk about yourself, or you might as well just not record it at all. I will make a few goofy ones to have a nice mix. “Don’t Just Listen, Discuss.” Oh yeah, the music in this promo is from one of my favorite opening themes of all time.
Mori ends the fire scene brilliantly. Also, why do I keep calling it email posts instead of Tweets.
My favorite moment of the podcast is when I said, “Hey I saw the Rock,” and Kirk says unfollow. Good times.
