Opening: Deltron 3030 – Virus
Closing: I Love Egg Theme Song

The spread of Abridged Series is out of control. It’s become like a virus that’s infected the anime fandom so deeply it seems like most people that start Abridged Series don’t even know why they do it, anymore. Like a compulsory need to make an abridged series out of every anime ever made. So, Cody braves through a viral infection of his own to gather his co-hosts to critically discuss this phenomenon. They’ll take a look at the small handful of good Abridged Series, leave the rest out with the trash, and get into the nitty gritty of this zombie-like trend. As well as demanding an end to certain things that every anime fan (even some A3K contributors) needs to stop doing. Seriously, people, cut it out.’

Ah the abridged series, I remember being in a few failed ones in the past. Bad mic quality and everything, and one of them was a Bleach series.

So thanks for bringing back memories I was trying to repress.

I’m offended by your horrible jokes about the Nostalgia Chick. Should have been stillborn

The whole “Abridged” thing has it’s origins all the way back to the 80’s and 90’s when you had these fan-produced parody dubs that use to be either circulated among fans in tape trades to selected con screenings. The oldest of them all goes to a 1983 effort by Nick Pollata and Phil Foglio entitled “You Say Yamato”. If might interest some in here to see this and to remind themselves what it took to get such a dub made at all in those analog days.

Probably the best one I liked was from a group that called itself “Pinesalad Productions” who did a fandub of several Dirty Pair episodes including this unforgettable title “Dirty Pair Does Dishes”.

I know a lot of people that either love Naploen Dynamite or hate it. I grew up with that movie in middles school and yeah, I was that guy that quoted it religiously to the point when I had to tell myself to shut up lol (I apologize to everyone in the past). It’s very dry humor, and I’m all about that. But if you want over-the-top comedy full of mature content (like 99% of comedy today) then that’s definitely not the movie to see. Granted I like offensive humor as much as the next guy, but it was just very refreshing to see a movie like that even exist, with the standard of comedic entertainment we have today.

And yet I didn’t care for the film the first time watching it (having to flashback to my high school days when I was that kid everyone knew but never socialized much with, I’ve suppressed those days well and didn’t want to be reminded of it).

there are both good and bad abridged series, but some that are overlooked and they are hillarious.

the “mad” abridges combine 2 series into one and dont always record their own dialog but just cut and paste, this can end up horrifying or glorious.
this could be the only good thing to come of mlp.
