They never stop using Ash mainly because of that damn electric rodent of his.

In an interview in 2008 with one of the lead writer’s of the Pokemon anime he stated that ash most likely will never win a regional league. The reason for this is due in part that ash travels around a said group of people for 4-5 yrs, a new generation of games out and then they shift focus on said games to sell them and merchandise.

It was also stated that by the time one full regional season is done airing most kids will have moved on past Pokemon or pocket monsters. This way the writers can basically reset the story for the t.v. anime in the new region for next gen of kids and say fuck it to any developing story or character building.

And this is why Pokemon Special/Adventures did it better; entirely new protagonists for each game/Part, and give it good enough plotlines and characters to get readers to stick around when they grew up (something I like to call the Oda method, since Eiichiro Oda plainly stated that’s what he does in One Piece).

          But that takes effort!

Having seen the guy that did those original Pokemon mangas that Viz licensed in the late 90s other works…

Fuck, that dude has never been laid in his life. Probably explains why Adventures lasted longer, Nintendo/Game Freak found a writer/artist that wasn’t full on virgin to make good quality Pokemon manga.

So thanks for the manga recommendation, Shmecks.

I stated why they would never replace Ash, not why the anime never ends.

But yeah, It was reduced to a marketing ploy now.

Which I just find to be sad and pathetic. While the games have evolved over the years with newer game-play mechanics, online battles, contest and older MC’s

The only thing I found decent in x/y is the special “The Strongest Mega Evolution.” That’s pretty damn sad and in all honesty I’m glad I stopped watching the main series after diamond/pearl.

Calling it now, Ash will NEVER get a mega stone.

Akame ga Kill was eh. Yeah, they killed some characters, but I’m not a teenager, so that doesn’t “feels” me.

I will be waiting for a review of Aldnoah Zero on TOS.
