I read the obituary of my anime list a few seasons ago, but I still enjoy listening to people go through the pain of watching and anticipating new anime.

These days I stick to the classics, but the new Dragonball show has me excited (although still kind of a classic).

Abandon all hope ye who enter this season.

Dude Seriously WTF. I mean that is just Fucking Horrifying

So from the summary on Anichart and this I can only Guess it is trying to be (and I hate Comparing it to this) Berserk except for Losers.

        LMAO HE’S fuckin a rabbit…. >.>

I burned through the first volume It’s has more or less all the racism of Terraformars without the charm.

  • Doesn’t come as no surprise to me you refer to Nippon Animation’s output as “Ghibli s–t”, that studio once employed certain people back in the 70’s that founded Ghibli later on. They work tends to stem more to classic literature and less the shonen/shojo manga adaptations as the rest (or catering to certain groups as they want to produce work for general audiences such as on TV).

Gatchaman Crowds is about Superheroes, Online communities, and Trolls; that’s the gist of it.

After listening to the podcast I have realized that you are secretly Haruhi Suzumiya. I looked up the first ep of okusama-ga-seitokaichou. Whatever the fuck that means. And it only took you 4:40 to be right on both your points. 1. Within the first minute the main chick throws armfuls of condoms into the audience, and 2. The parents stated outright that they made the arranged marriage while they were drunk when the kids were three. I can only conclude that The Other Side is actually code for The Melancholy of Cody Baier. With Andrew as your Kyon and Max as the ever adorable Mikuru.

At this point, anime might as well just crawl into its grave and stay there. Either that or get people who know what the fuck they’re doing. But since that seems to be hard to do (this goes for all media these days, actually). I think it’s just easier to take it behind the shed and shoot it Ol’ Yeller style.

Also, not surprised you don’t like Nippon Animation either. I’m not a big fan of them and their output either. Not just because it’s Ghibli-esque bullshit, but because they’re boring as fuck and drag for long periods of time without accomplishing much of anything. And that’s just the series with overarching plot lines.

I am holding out some hope for Gangsta and Dragon Ball though. But that’s about it.

A google image search of prison school is one weird decent into insanity. (WHY IS THERE A MEDUSA IN HER COOCH?!)

Cody, you were right. The idea of your “Foxes Aren’t Wolves” episode was that you would watch his previous three movies by Mamoru Hosoda to judge how well you think the upcoming one will turn out. It’s name is Bakemono no Ko, or The Boy and The Beast, with the basic premise of “Boy is raised by bear monster in imaginary world”. It’s pretty hard to mess up, but we’ll see later in this year.

I don’t have every episode memorized, though. There are a few which I consistently skip over for one reason or another.

    Holy shit!!!
3 good shows, with a possibility for a 4th if that one by that Sword Art studio gets its shit together.
For the last few years it’s been one good thing per season.

  • Clefugly

Okay why is anime getting creepier exponentially every season? Are serial killers a primo demographic in Japan now??
