loved your villain part my favorite villain is Shishio Makoto who by the way was voiced by the one and only Steve Blum and Cody did you know that Oda work on Rurouni Kenshin he even created a character.

for my true gateway it’d be shinzo(mushranbo) and oban star racers. though i also watched gundam wing, dbz and card captors when i was younger and didn’t know about anime.

for manga that i’d like turned into anime there’s a few
-nanatsu no taizai(the seven deadly sins)
    -shokugeki no soma(food wars)
-denpa kyoshi(he is an ultimate teacher)
    -sentou jousai masurawo (battlefield masurawo)
    -The gamer(manhwa)
    -dragon recipe(manhwa)

  • Wakashi

My favorite anime villain is Frieza (I know, how “unique”, but that’s just the way it is). The Namek arc was the first time I saw a situation where the heroes had to do everything in their power to avoid the big bad, and then making their former big bad (Vegeta) be humiliated and destroyed by the main enemy they now had to face against. I also liked seeing Frieza go from a collected person into a madman with no honor right up to the point when he tried to kill Goku right after he spared him.

Franken Fran sounds pretty awesome, and just goes to show how much more diverse manga is compared to anime. The only manga I’m actually spending money on right now is the Gundam Origin volumes being released by Vertical. I recommend that manga to anyone who hasn’t or doesn’t want to watch the 1979 anime.

I haven’t started watching JoJo Pt3 yet, but it’s nice to hear that the animation has improved, because that was the problem I had with the previous parts. I can see Hisoka being inspired by Dio when it comes to the poses, but they’re the same kind of crazy. The first person I thought of when I saw Hisoka was the clown guy from Yu Yu Hakusho during the Dark Tournament. I’ll be frank and say that Hisoka is pretty much a psychopath pedophile. He is the embodiment of wicked. He’s like the literal context of the sub-context you see in rivals of other shounen series. It’s not “Hehehe, I bet someone will make a doujin out of this”; it’s no joke that he’s sick and twisted in the worst ways yet somehow a likable villain.

I agree that Death Note had to end with Ryuk’s foretelling coming to light, which was stated very early on. I was on the edge of my chair during those last 2 episodes when I first watched it. My main problem with Near & company is that they felt kinda shoehorned into the story. I wish those characters were introduced early on and at least given a minor role during the first half to keep the second half from feeling like it was just tacked on.

Btw, Higurashi is not based on a hentai, lol. When I heard that, I was like “nnnnoooooooo…….” It’s based off a doujin murder mystery game. I grew up playing those kinda games, so I was instantly interested when I knew what the show was doing. There’s multiple arcs, and like a game, it resets and tells a different path that the story takes due to subtle choices that characters make, trying to reach a conclusion where all of their friends don’t die. It’s not the “scary” faces or gore alone that made it creepy, it’s a mixture of the interactions and mysteries behind what was causing all these events that kept things on the edge. It’s a shame the animation is awful. All I can say is that if you watch the first arc (eps 1-4) and don’t like it, then don’t bother. This show is understandably hard to get into, but if you get hooked, it pays off in spades. If you do like the show, do yourself a favor and avoid the OVAs because they are everything awful that the show could have been if turned into a typical harem show.
