Deb Aoki starts the conversation providing information about its manga origins. She touches on the subject of Sailor Moon being a manga geared for girls, which prompts a discussion about why some guys are also attracted to the series. Then Jordan D. White shares his thoughts about breaking into anime through this series. He brings up a brilliant comparison between Sailor Moon and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Future of Sailor Moon [28:20 – 01:11:26]
Kodansha USA announced on March 18 that they will be releasing a deluxe edition of the series. The panel digs into the reasons it took so long. Deb also goes into greater detail about what fans can expect in the summer. With the lack of supply comes increasing demand with Deb discovering volumes being sold at over $900 dollars. Jordan explains his uncanny relations to Sailor Moon and Twitter. The question is raised, can Sailor Moon have a significant impact on a new generation of anime and manga fans? Who is most likely to pick up the rights to the anime? Sean forces the panel to make predictions as to the whereabouts of the anime release of the series.
